Yes. We believe that additions or remodeling can improve the layout and space of some clients’ homes. California Home Builders & Design Inc. values the need for remodeling, and our remodeling clients receive the same care and quality work that are used in our custom homes.

Once the rough construction and sheet rocking is complete, a weekly site meeting is necessary for the success of the project. A standard meeting place and time will be set for you and your project manager to meet and discuss the current situation, subsequent steps, and the budget.

Your project manager works personally with you on your project from the very beginning. The process typically requires communication beyond the regular meetings, and depending on what works best for you, we can communicate via email, phone, or in person.

California Home Builders & Design Inc. ensures quality work through various methods. Our team members personally work on and oversee your project by being on the jobsite daily. The project manager and other experienced and knowledgeable construction staff visit and work on the site as well. The president and CEO, Simon Krek, typically checks and discusses the work daily to confirm the quality standards are met during every phase.

Yes. Each person is deeply invested in the success of your project, and provides strong business support that you can count on. Our office team consists of our President and CEO, Simon Krek, our office manager, Radka Nayeri, our customer service manager, Bahram Dehdari-Deris, our marketing manager, Shimen Krek, as well as our accounts payable, Adlin Bedrouyan. As our office is located in our design showroom (California Homes & Kitchen Design Center), our custom cabinet shop and granite fabrication foreman, David Betosb, is also available for support.

California Home Builders & Design Inc. is priced competitively among other luxury custom home builders. We utilize our own employees for almost every trade, from beginning to end of each project, leaving little use for subcontractors. We also do 100% of the finishing ourselves. We own a design showroom (California Homes & Kitchen Design Center) and have relationships with many vendors, both of which leave us with essentially no overhead.

The estimates we create at California Home Builders & Design Inc. include every aspect of your project. We begin by examining your plans and architectural specifications, and using those to write a thorough scope of work (SOW) that includes every trade from grading and foundation, all the way to roof installation and external finish. The SOW is made especially for your project and plans, and it outlines the products that will be used throughout the project, as well as the work that will be done on your project.

Our estimates are very accurate. A home’s design and finishes are what mainly determine the cost of a home, and the final selections of those allow us to put together the most accurate project budget.

Yes. At California Home Builders & Design Inc. we offer two types of protection. We have our own liability and worker’s compensation insurance, and we require each of our subcontractors to have the same. Our employees and our subcontractors all carry proper licenses as well as certifications. You can check licenses by going to the Contractors State License Board website, at www.cslb.ca.gov, clicking on the “Consumers” tab, and searching our company name.

Usually, projects go over-budget and take longer than expected to complete when people do not work with builders. As a design/build firm, we determine from the very beginning a budget and timeline that are realistic, and we stay on track because we manage the project from planning to completion. We consider many things—the site, the existing makeup, and the design and finishes that you wish to include. This simplifies the whole process as it removes almost any unexpected expenses and delays. While we do our best to make sure the budget and timeline stay on point, we cannot anticipate every situation. You may decide on a more expensive finish than originally intended, or we may find that the framing is insufficient when we open up a wall. However, we at California Home Builders & Design Inc. use our own experienced employees for essentially everything from start to finish of each project, and can keep close tabs on every detail of your project to ensure it stays on budget and on time.

To get a personalized estimate for your project, we encourage you to make an appointment to speak with one of our designers. Depending on the scope of your project, you should receive your estimate via phone and/or email within 10 business days.

First, we encourage you to schedule your free initial consultation. From there, we will do a walk-through and discuss your vision, lifestyle, timeline, and budget in order to establish the scope of work. Then, we will be able to determine whether or not your budget is realistic. There are ways to economize and reduce the scope of certain projects, so tight budgets are still manageable. For example, it may be more cost effective to remodel an existing bath than to add a new master bedroom suite, or to substitute a standard tub for a jetted spa. If you decide to move forward to the preliminary design stage, we will give you options that match your budget without compromising the quality or style you wish to incorporate.
